Sac Town Kool Summer Dayz
It was bright and early on the morning of Saturday June 14 when two birds form Davis headed off to the first annual Sac Town Cool Summer Dayz car show being held at the Sunrise Mall. The show was a fund raiser for various local boys clubs. The organizers of the show did a great job in opening it up to all types of vehicles and motorcycles too. It was my understanding that there were ~150 cars in attendance Julie and I ended up with two really good spots to setup our cars, in the shade! It ended up being a 100 degree day so you can see why we were so happy to be in the shade. Both of our cars looked great and we both equally attracted attention. There was no real classification for the cars at the show, but the organizers did come up with about twenty different categories . Needless to say the categories they devised were not in our favor. Regardless though, we both had a great time just hanging out and talking with other enthusiasts. One of the neat things the show's organizers did was try to make the show a real family oriented event. They had jump houses, slides, a cotton candy booth, hamburgers/hot dog, and a live band , which, was actually good. Later in the day several club members came by to show their support for us. It is my belief that we should thing about doing this show as a club event next year as another way to bring attention to our great group.
